Launched in January 1987, the NS 125R was the fully faired version of the NS 125F, giving buyers a sports-styled option without a new engine or chassis. Changes from the F were the full fairing, new instruments, a darker grey frame and aluminium gear and brake levers, adding about 2.5 kg. It cost 4,195,000 lire in Italy in 1987.
